What are the different densities and strengths available?

  • Cellular concrete exhibits a much lighter density than most regular concrete. Typical plain concrete has a density of approximately 140 lb. / cu. ft. while Geofill cellular concrete densities range from 20 to 120 lb. / cu. ft.. Cellular concrete is an insulator and can be used in applications which require an insulating material that also exhibits some integrity and strength. At its lightest density, Geofill LD and Geofill LD Pervious are still more stable and stronger than well compacted soil. When replacing soils, Geofill can be designed to provide whatever strengths and characteristics are needed for the project.

How fast does Geofill cellular concrete set up?

  • Typically, Geofill cellular concrete will hold its own weight after six hours and can be walked on within 24 hours. However, set times depend on many variables such as air temperature, humidity, mix design, etc.
